Voices and playback speed

Speechdash offers ten voice presets and configurable playback speed.

Voice presets

Choose from ten character voices: Nathan, Leo, Marcus, Alex, Ethan, Sophie (default), Emma, Clara, Luna, and Nora. Each has a distinct avatar in the voice popover.

Open the voice popover on the playback bar to preview and select a voice.

Voice roles (defaults)

Under Settings → General, set default voices for:

• Narrator: main reading voice
• Questioner: dialogue-style questions
• Expert: explanatory passages

Defaults apply to new documents and imports. Change voices anytime during playback.

Playback speed

• Use the speed control on the playback bar for the current session (slider from 0.5× to 2.5×)
• Set a default speed (0.5×, 1×, or 2×) in Settings → General for new documents

Speed changes apply immediately.

Listening language

The voice popover also lets you set listening language, which can differ from the document language.
