Create a new version
Generate Natural, Lecture, or Conversational versions with AI.
Create alternative versions from the New version sheet in the document reader.

Open the document.
Click New version in the side toolbar.
Choose a version type (Natural, Lecture, Conversational, or Original copy/translate).
Select output language if different from the source.
Review the credit estimate and confirm generation.
Wait for processing. The header shows progress until the version is ready.
Async generation
Version generation runs in the background. You can stay on the document or navigate away; switch to the new version from the header when status shows completed.
Translate in the More menu is a different path: it creates a finished language version and bills like MP3 export, not like this AI generation surcharge. See Translate a document.
