AI voices and characters
Ten preset AI voice characters for document playback and questions.
Speechdash includes 10 preset AI voices: five male-presenting and five female-presenting characters. Each has a name, avatar, and consistent personality in the UI.

Each character has a distinct avatar in the voice popover.
Language-agnostic voices
Voices are not tied to a single language. You choose the listening language separately in the voice popover. The same character can read English, French, Japanese, or any of the supported languages.
Where voices appear
- Playback bar: main narrator while you listen
- Ask questions: assistant replies show the voice-character avatar
- Settings → General: default voices for new documents
Eco and Cloud use the same presets
Whether you listen in Eco (local) or Cloud (server), you pick from the same character list. Audio quality and infrastructure differ; characters stay consistent.
Change voice during playback
Open the voice popover while audio is playing. Voice, language, and Eco/Cloud changes apply immediately without restarting the document.
