MP3 export workflow
End-to-end flow from Download MP3 to generation, progress, and re-download.
MP3 export turns the active document version into a downloadable audio file. Credits charge at generation time, not when you download again later.
Introduction
This sentence is highlighted during playback.
The following paragraph continues…
Open the dialog
From the reader side toolbar, open Export and click Download MP3.
Confirm screen
The dialog summarizes:
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Version name | Which text version is exported |
| Duration estimate | Total spoken length at current speed |
| Sentence count | Number of sentences included |
| Voice | Active narrator preset |
| Speed | Playback speed multiplier |
| Estimated credits | Wallet credits before you start (coins icon) |
Skipped sentences and code blocks are omitted from the export, same as playback.
When the file is ready, the download uses a friendly name from the document title and date (for example My-first-document-2026-07-24.mp3).
Generation
Confirm export. Speechdash starts a background job.
A progress bar updates while audio segments generate.
When complete, download the MP3 from the dialog or later from Settings → Downloads.
Cached segments
Sentences you already heard in Cloud mode may be cached. Cached segments cost 0 credits on export. Fresh segments bill at export rates.
Re-download
Completed exports stay in Download history. Re-downloading does not charge again.
Tips
- Export the version you want (switch in the header first)
- Use Eco playback to preview before paying for Cloud export
- Long documents cost more; check the estimate before confirming
