Mobile and tablet experience
How Speechdash adapts on phones and tablets.
Speechdash works in the mobile browser. Layout adjusts for smaller screens. Drop a file, listen or transcribe, then ask questions.
Introduction
This sentence is highlighted during playback.
The following paragraph continues…
Sidebar on mobile
The main sidebar is hidden by default. Tap the sidebar trigger on the homepage to open navigation in a sheet (New, Search, Library, the transcription job queue, lists).
Document reader
Opening a document uses the full screen. The main app sidebar stays hidden so the text and playback bar have maximum space.
Playback bar
On viewports below the md breakpoint, the playback bar docks full width at the bottom with:
- Stacked controls for easier thumb reach
- Safe area padding for iPhone home indicators
On desktop, the same controls appear in a centered floating pill.
Eco vs Cloud on mobile
Eco mode (local playback) requires a modern browser with WebAssembly and works best on desktop. On many phones, Cloud mode is the reliable choice for listening. See Eco vs Cloud.
Chat panel
On narrow screens the Ask questions panel may overlay or share vertical space. Resize or close it to focus on reading.
Tips for mobile
- Add Speechdash to your home screen for quick access (browser Add to Home Screen)
- Use In progress on the homepage to resume without searching
- Export MP3 on desktop, then listen offline on any device
