Onboarding and your first document
What happens after signup, onboarding questions, and creating your first transcript or listen.
New accounts go through a short onboarding flow, then land on the homepage ready to transcribe or import.

After you sign up
- Verify email if required for your auth method
- Complete onboarding: name, country, persona, what you want to do first, and how you found Speechdash
- Arrive at the homepage hub with the file dropzone

Onboarding collects

There is no manual currency picker during onboarding; country drives currency.
Your first file
Fastest paths:

Audio and video start a transcription job. When it finishes, the text opens in Library. PDF and text files become a document you can listen to. The homepage does not accept pasted text or URLs. Speechdash assigns a short AI title and detects language automatically.
Free after signup: 3 listening documents per day, 30 minute document imports (1 file at a time), and transcription of 30 minutes per file (1 job, 500 MB, 0.5 credits per started minute). See Plans and pricing.
Referral links
Signing up via /signup?ref={code} (redirects to register) stores a referral cookie. Both you and your referrer may earn bonus credits after qualifying actions. See Referral program.
Student discount
If reduced pricing would help, open Get discount from the user menu (sidebar avatar) after onboarding. Approval switches your account to education-tier pricing.
